Girls In Motion:Teens in Sports, Mental Wellness and Social Media
Sports is one of the most powerful protective factors we have for girls' mental health โ and yet 50% of girls leave sports during adolescence.
What we know: Social media impacts girlsโ body image and body confidence is the number one reason girls quit sports. They are walking away from sports right at the moment they need it most.
Her Story brings girls in sports together for a day of impact featuring curated panels with renowned women athletes like soccer legend, Abby Wambach, hands-on sport activations, and mental health resources designed to support them during adolescence. Girls will leave with real tools to quiet their inner critic, take back control of their feeds, and protect their peace โ so they stay in the game, exactly where we know they thrive.
"The research is clear: girls step back from sport not because of ability, but because of confidence, pressure, and whether they feel they truly belong.
Girls in Motion was a powerful example of what happens when we get this right- supporting confidence, connection, and mental wellbeing, and giving girls the skills they need to stay in sport and thrive in life.โ

Girls In Motion: Teens in the Arts, Body Image and Social Media
The arts are one of the most powerful spaces girls have to discover who they are โ and research backs it up. Participating in arts activities builds self-esteem, self-acceptance, confidence, and self-worth โ all of which help protect their mental wellbeing. But even in the arts, the pressure of social media follows them.
At our inaugural Girls In Motion event we brought together girls in the arts for a day of impact with ballet icon Misty Copeland as our special guest. Girls learned what it means to listen to their bodies and how to protect their peace online. They were surrounded by mentors and built community with each other through their shared experience of growing up girl during the digital age.
โDo I feel good? Do I physically feel good? Do I emotionally feel good? What will get me there?โ
